History

The Down Under Bowl is the largest American football championship tournament of its kind held outside the United States. The fi rst Down Under Bowl was inaugurated in 1989 making 2010 our 22nd year.

Tournament

Dates: July 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 2010*
  • Teams are divided into brackets of four teams. Each team plays in two games. The outcome of the fi rst game determines whether a team's second game is a consolation or championship game
  • Games are played according to high school federation rules
  • Officials are from the United States and Australia
  • Game time consists of four 12 minute quarters, with a minute between quarters. Half time is 15 minutes
  • Australian and New Zealand teams and indiviuals are invited to participate in the Down Under Bowl
  • Medals and awards presented after the second game
  • Athletes need to bring their own pads and helmet
