History :
The first Down Under Hoops Classic took place in 1997. There are participants and teams from all over the United States . The 2009 Down Under Hoops Classic will be the 13th year for this event.
Participation :
- A two day tournament is held on the gold coast. Teams play in a minimum of at least 5 games.
- In past Down Under Hoops Classic Tournaments there have been Australian and New Zealand Teams that have participated.
- A basketball team consists of 12 participants
Award Ceremony:
- Championship Trophy, Gold Medals – 1 st
- Silver Medals – 2 nd
- Bronze – 3 rd
- Participation Medals
- All Star Teams
Games

Games are played in 4 x 10 minute quarters

Warm up period – 5 minutes

1 minute between quarters and 3 minutes half time break.
