The 2014 Down Under Sports Track & Field Meet was the largest to date, and nothing short of spectacular. Ten nations were represented and USA won the Team Championship by 1/2 point, and 35 meet records were set during the 3-day competition.
The top male performer was American, 18-year-old sprinter Justin Thomas from Mississippi; as he dominated the sprints in the boys 18-19 division. Justin won the 100 meters, the 200 meters and anchored the 4x100 meter relay to victory, while setting meet records in all three events.
Female performers from the USA earned many wins and medals, but the top female this year went to Australian, 17- year-old Nicole Maynard. In her age division, Nicole won the long jump, the triple jump and the 400 meter dash, while finishing 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles and the 200 meter dash.
